The Bill Hanzlik Basketball Camp is one of the premier summer basketball camps held in the state of Colorado. The daily schedule is fast paced with approximately one hour of fundamentals and drills, 30 minutes of contests for prizes and 90 minutes of games in a league format, with a short break each day. There are a variety of different sessions for all ages within the two scheduled camps:

    July 13–17
    2nd - 4th Grade Co-Ed: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm *
    4th - 6th Grade Boys: 1:00 – 4:00 pm
    7th - 10th Grade Boys: 5:00 – 8:00 pm
    July 20–24
    2nd - 4th Grade Co-Ed: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm *
    4th - 6th Grade Girls: 1:00 – 4:00 pm
    7th - 10th Grade Girls: 1:00 – 4:00 pm
NOTE: We will split the Gold Crown Field House and host the two girls sessions separately.
    * Early drop-off is available for Coed Hoops Campers; extra fee applies.

For the older camps, the staff consists of great varsity-level high school coaches and varsity-level college players. There is a great coach-to-camper ratio of one coach for each eight campers. The staff has over 250 years of combined coaching and playing experience at or above the high school varsity level! The Co-Ed camps for younger players will also have great staffs of local hoops experts.

All camps will be held at the Gold Crown Field House, located at 150 S. Harlan St. in Lakewood. The great air-conditioned facility has 28 retractable basketball hoops and a performance wood floor big enough for 10 full-court camp games at once! Each and every camp session will be hosted by Bill Hanzlik, a local sports celebrity. In his nine seasons as a player with the Denver Nuggets, Hanzlik made the NBA Playoffs seven times and won the Midwest Division Championship twice. After retiring as a player in 1991, Hanzlik became an Assistant Coach with the Charlotte Hornets and the Atlanta Hawks before serving as the Nuggets' Head Coach in 1997-98. He now serves as the full-time Co-Founder and CEO of the Gold Crown Foundation in Denver and is a broadcast contributor for Denver Nuggets telecasts on Altitude Sports & Entertainment. He was inducted into the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame in 2004 for his playing career and contributions to the Colorado sports community.

In addition to the fundamental basketball instruction, campers will have the opportunity to play in league-style full court competition. The coaches will place players on teams based on height and ability to help balance competition. All campers at the Bill Hanzlik Basketball Camps will receive a Camp T-shirt the first day of camp. Campers can also win prizes including T-shirts, hats and school supplies. (Each camper will win at least one prize during the week from our prize closet.) Campers will also be given the chance to participate in our voluntary "Free Throw Pledge Contest" and shoot free throws, collect pledges and win prizes. Proceeds help others through the Gold Crown Foundation.
